book stack :: August TBR

August 05, 2018

This week's book stack is my (probably rather optimistic!) 'to be read' pile for August.
I'm sure I've talked about TBRs here before, and the fact that I'm not really excellent at sticking to them, but I do like to have a stack to chose from when I'm looking for my next book.
So, here is what I've pulled together for August...

This month's TBR is a mixture of books I want to read for events I'm seeing at the Canberra Writers Festival, books I've been sent for review, library loans that have come in, and just a few extras I'm keen on. From top to bottom there, I have...

- The Gypsy Crown by Kate Forsyth - from the library

- The Promise Horse by Jackie Merchant - sent to me for review by Walker Books

- The Young Vikings by James Maloney - from the library

- Tiddas by Anita Heiss - I bought this one a few weeks ago and it will be my romance novel by a POC for the Read Harder Challenge

- Meet Me at the Intersection edited by Rebecca Lim and Amber Kwaymullina - sent to me for review by Fremantle Press

- The Hating Game by Sally Thorne - I picked this up last week after hearing loads of good buzz about it, and because Sally Thorne is a local Canberra author

- Every Lie I've Ever Told by Rosie Waterland - for the Canberra Writers Festival

- The Brightsiders by Jen Wilde - from the library

- Mullumbimby by Melissa Lucashenko - for the Canberra Writers Festival

- We See the Stars by Kate van Hooft - #loveozya for the Canberra Writers Festival

- A Month of Sundays by Liz Byrski - sent to me for review by Pan Macmillan

- Vox by Christina Dalcher - sent to me for review by Harlequin Books

- The Book of Ordinary People by Claire Varley - sent to me for review by Pan Macmillan

- The Clockmaker's Daughter by Kate Morton - this is an advance copy a lovely friend has loaned me (it is out in September from Allen & Unwin).

So, that's my stack for August! I have already finished Vox (it was goooood!) and am moving onto The Hating Game next, I think! I'd love to hear whether any of your favourites are in here, or if there are titles you think I should DEFINITELY get to this month! And do share what's on your August reading list in the comments too!
