August Book Mail
September 04, 2018I had some pretty good book mail in August, so I thought I'd share it here - kind of a preview of some of the books that I'll be reading over the next little while.
These are a mix of books I've been sent for review, bought online, and even one I won in a giveaway.
The Girl Who Fell: The Chess Raven Chronicles :: Violet Grace
I had seen a bit of buzz about this one on social media and was thrilled when Nero books sent me a copy. This is the first book in a new YA fantasy series.
Secrets Hidden Below :: Sandra Bennett
This is an adventure story pitched at 7-10 year olds, about a family on holiday in Bali. Canberra-based publishers Elephant Tree Publishing sent me this one to review over on the Living Arts Canberra website.
Echo Springs :: Leisl Leighton, Daniel de Lorne, TJ Hamilton, Shannon Curtis
(on goodreads)
Harlequin Australia sent me this book, which I think is a compilation of four stories set around the police station of a small rural town. I'm expecting a bit of romance and a bit of murder...
Give Me Your Hand :: Megan Abbott
(on goodreads)
I won this in an Instagram giveaway from Pan Macmillan and @genie_inabook - it is a psychological thriller about friends and secrets (it sounds fantastically creepy!)
Vasilisa the Wise :: Kate Forsyth
(on goodreads)
I have had my eye on Kate Forsyth's latest book since I saw it was coming out, and finally treated myself to it last week so I can read it before we see Kate at the Heroines festival this weekend!
I'm hoping to read at least a few of these in September, so keep an eye out for reviews if you'd like to know more! And let me know in the comments if you've read any of these ones!
